Louisiana governor launches new license plates to fund scholarships for Native Americans

A special campaign has been launched to provide for Native American students from Louisiana tribes to get scholarships.

According to a post from Gov. Jeff Landry’s Office of Programs and Planning, the Office of Indian Affairs and the Louisiana Indian Educational Association have launched a campaign to raise money for scholarships for Native American students.

The sale and renewal of American Indian special license plates will support the academic scholarship fund, the post shows.

Scholarships will be given to Native American students from Louisiana tribes based on academic merit and financial need.
