The Grassy Narrows First Nation has re-imposed its checkpoint.
It’s in response to recent incidents in the community.
In an open letter, Grassy says there has been attempted abductions of band members.
The letter goes on to say human trafficking is vile and evil.
The Treaty Three Police says it acknowledges the recent concerns raised by the First Nation leadership and fully support the proactive measures taken by the chief and council.
It says human trafficking is a complex and critical issue and it’s committed to protect the communities it serves.
